The issue affects the “X” button, which is intended to quit Task Manager. Instead of closing the app, the button seems to leave multiple instances running in the background. This can lead to excessive CPU and RAM usage, particularly for those who repeatedly try to open and close the application.
The change log for the KB5067036 update notes a fix for a prior issue where certain apps were not being grouped with their processes in Task Manager; however, it does not mention any additional changes to the Task Manager functionality.
