Currently, Anwar’s government is credited with bringing stability after Malaysia experienced rapid leadership changes between 2020 and 2021. However, rising living costs have sparked protests demanding reforms and accountability. Ethnic and religious tensions continue to pose challenges, evidenced by recent incidents that highlighted Malaysia’s polarized political landscape.
Despite facing domestic scrutiny, Anwar has made strides in international diplomacy, particularly in engaging with both U.S. and Chinese leaders. His advocacy for Palestinian issues has also gained traction domestically following recent conflicts.
