Fandom’s CEO has left the company

Perkins Miller has stepped down as CEO of Fandom after six years with the company. His departure was confirmed by Katie Schroeder in a statement to The Verge, which noted that Fandom is currently operating under interim leadership and has not yet announced a successor.

Miller’s exit comes amid ongoing discussions about the platform’s user experience. Although Fandom’s IP-specific wikis are widely recognized, reports indicate that these wikis often suffer from navigation issues, partly attributed to an abundance of ads that can destabilize the pages. In an interview with Decoder in 2023, Miller acknowledged the challenges facing Fandom in balancing user experience with revenue needs.

Additionally, while Fandom has not designated a new CEO to succeed Miller, PlayOn! Sports Network has announced that he will assume the role of CEO there. PlayOn! Sports Network is known for aggregating videos of high school organized sports. This transition raises questions about the direction Fandom may take under new leadership in the future.
