Family members of Palestinian prisoners have expressed happiness following the release of their relatives and friends, which was part of a ceasefire agreement with Hamas. Israel has released a total of 1,968 individuals under this arrangement.
The release occurred in two batches: one group was transferred from Ofer Prison located in the West Bank, while the other group was released from Ketziot Prison in southern Israel.
In a related development, Hamas has reportedly released the last 20 living hostages after more than two years in captivity. The situation surrounding deceased hostages remains unclear, as the coffins of two Israeli hostages have been handed over to the Red Cross. However, Hamas has indicated it does not know the location of some of the other 24 deceased hostages.
