Vodafone customers across the UK have reported widespread service interruptions affecting both broadband and mobile networks. On Monday afternoon, Downdetector, a platform that tracks service outages, recorded over 130,000 reports indicating issues with Vodafone services. The company has approximately 18 million customers in the UK, which includes around 700,000 home broadband users.
In response to the outage, Vodafone issued a statement acknowledging a “major issue on our network” that is impacting various services, including broadband, 4G, and 5G. The company expressed gratitude for customer patience while they work on addressing the problem. Many users have reported difficulties in reaching Vodafone’s customer service and have indicated challenges accessing the company’s website and app, which are typically utilized to check network status.
The reported issues began shortly after 15:00 BST, with many customers sharing their experiences on social media. Complaints included complete outages in certain areas, as well as frustrations among users who depend on their services for work and personal matters. Some users described being unable to access the internet entirely, forcing them to seek alternative Wi-Fi sources, such as local cafes.
Furthermore, the services affecting Vodafone also appear to impact customers of other telecom companies that utilize its network. Reports of similar issues emerged from users of Voxi, a mobile network owned by Vodafone, as well as Lebara, which relies on Vodafone’s infrastructure. As the situation develops, questions remain regarding the duration of these outages and the steps Vodafone will take to resolve the issues.
