On Friday night, in Banjari village, Itawa sub-division of Rajasthan’s Kota district, a man was filmed lifting an approximately eight-foot-long, 80-kilogram crocodile onto his shoulders during a rescue operation. The incident took place after local authorities allegedly failed to respond to multiple calls for assistance from frightened residents when the crocodile entered a family’s home.
According to reports, the family was sitting in their living room when the crocodile crawled inside through the front door. After a delay in the arrival of rescue personnel, the villagers contacted Hayat Khan, a local wildlife enthusiast known for his rescue efforts. Khan and his team managed to tape the crocodile’s mouth, secure its legs, and safely remove it from the house, a process that took nearly an hour and concluded around 11 PM.
In a video that has since gone viral, Khan is seen carrying the crocodile on his shoulders while being applauded by the gathered villagers. The crocodile was released into the Chambal River in the Geta area the following morning.
