A life-sized holographic police officer has been introduced in central Seoul as part of a strategy aimed at crime deterrence. The hologram is displayed every two minutes from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM in Jeo-dong Park, which is frequented by nightlife visitors due to its proximity to various bars.
According to the police, the implementation of this technology has coincided with a reported reduction in crime rates of approximately 22 percent in the area. Given this outcome, authorities are considering the possibility of expanding the use of holograms to additional locations.
This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to explore innovative methods for improving safety in urban environments.
