IO Interactive, known for developing the popular Hitman series, recently unveiled their latest title, 007 First Light, during a special September State of Play presentation. This new game features players taking on the role of a youthful James Bond, distinct from the bald Agent 47 of the Hitman franchise. A thirty-minute gameplay stream is available for viewing online.
The gameplay demo showcased in First Light resembles that of Hitman. It included settings such as an upscale party at a luxurious estate, where players engage in stealth mechanics by blending in with the crowd, eavesdropping on conversations for valuable clues, and navigating through various environments. Players also have access to an array of high-end vehicles, which may be subject to reckless driving. The similarities in gameplay style have led to observations that First Light appears to be a modified version of Hitman with the thematic elements of James Bond.
As the gaming community anticipates further details, questions remain about how 007 First Light will differentiate itself from its predecessor while retaining the essence of the beloved spy genre.
